About Baxter’s Buddies

We drop off and pick your children up daily in our Baxter’s Buddies Vans from Oaklands and Halswell School.

We welcome both permanent and casual bookings and offer FREE homework supervision as well as a wide range of fun activities.

Before School Care

(7:15-8: 45 am M-F, breakfast provided, $11:50 per child, drop off at school by 8:45 am daily)

After School Care

(3:00-6: 00 pm M-F, snack and homework included)

$19.00 per child, for an up to 3-hour session! (Permanent bookings)

$17.00 for the second child

$19.75 per child (Casual bookings)

Baxter’s Buddies July Holiday Programme

Information for Parents

Programme Hours: 7.30am to 6:00pm

Venue: Halswell Community Hall, 450 Halswell Road, Halswell 8025

Your holiday programme is run by Baxter’s Buddies. We hope your children will enjoy the programme of activities we have planned. Please take careful note of the following to ensure their enjoyment and safety while they are in our care.

* Please give your children breakfast before they arrive and they need to bring a packed lunch and a named drink bottle. Afternoon snacks will be provided

* Please sign the register each day when children arrive and when they are collected. Any changes to bookings or absences must be notified to Lisa Smith.

* The staff ratio is: 1 adults to 8 children.

* We will will try to look after children’s property but will accept no responsibility for lost or damaged possessions.

* Children must wear shoes when outside.

* In the event of an accident or emergency, staff will perform appropriate first aid and if necessary call an ambulance. Parents will be contacted immediately.

* To confirm your booking we must be in receipt of the completed enrolment form and a 50% deposit. We have limited spaces available, so please book early. The balance of the fee is payable one week prior to the first day of the programme. No refunds are available for any reason that a child is unable to attend once booked, including sickness. This is because the costs associated with the programme will not change.

The cost is $50 for a day for one child and $90 a day for two children.

The supervisor reserves the right to exclude from the programme any child who is constantly disruptive, not following rules or poses a significant risk to the safety of themselves or others.

Pussy Cats are taking over The Drama Theatre, Rangi Ruru School, as part of Kidsfest 2018.

i thought i saw a Pussy Cat! is an interactive theatrical family experience that invites the audience to explore a playful world of feline friends, which makes for some ‘puss-some’ July School holiday entertainment!

Join Buster, Gus, Sally, Slinky and Tom in a 70 minute stage presentation, where the talented and energetic cast will delight and entertain both children and adults alike. The production includes a wide ranging selection of familiar and enjoyable Cat-centric stories, songs, and poems, while encouraging the audience to dance, play games, and even help create a Cat Band!

From start to finish, i thought i saw a Pussy Cat! has been assembled with a love and respect for all animals; and the promotion of their care and wellbeing.

To encourage this during the season, The Riccarton Players Theatre Group will be accepting donations of pet foods, toys, and accessories at each performance, which will be committed to aiding urban animal fostering programs within the Canterbury Region.
