Literacy - Over the last two weeks, we have started our Integrated Learning which is our Literacy component of our programme looking at what makes a good leader. Students have currently been analysing the traits that good leaders have, looking at Sir Edmond Hillary and Nancy Wake. Over the next few weeks we will compare and contrast multiple leaders and then put all of our learning into a piece of writing.
Maths - Currently, we have a focus on Statistics, students have been learning about Mean, Median, Mode and Range. All students now have been placed in their learning groups and will start new learning on Number Knowledge.
Swimming - The students have been making the most of the two sessions that they have weekly. We have been looking into safe water entry, survival skills and diving skills.
Bake Sale - The dates for the bake sale are as follows:
Term 1: 18th of March
Term 2: 13th of May and 10th of June
Term 3: 5th of August and 2nd of September
Term 4: 28th of October
Chocolate - The majority of Year 8 Students have been getting stuck into the selling of their chocolate. Many are approaching the complete sale of a fundraising box. In each box, there is a plastic envelop that the money can be placed in and sealed, this then needs to be returned (Thursdays) to the Taiheke Hub for counting. The profit will then be added to the students accounts.
Friday Middle Block - In the middle block of Friday, students will be involved in either the Te Hapua Programme, Buddy Programme or the Visual Art Programme.
