Our preparation for Koru Games 2017 has begun!

The Koru Games is a multi day, multi sports  tournament for Year 7 and 8 students in the South Island. This year the Koru Games will run from 19-21 September 2017. All of the students in year 7 and 8 will be participating in the tournament in one of either Football, Netball, Volleyball or Touch Rugby. 

Students have indicated their preferred activity and we are currently running trials to determine final teams. We are constrained by tournament entry restrictions and the students are aware that some of them may not get to play in the first choice activity. Experience tells us that this is not always a bad thing.  In previous years it has been rewarding to see students step up to the challenge of new activity. I am sure that this year will be no different. 

This term our focus is on forming teams and learning the skills required to play the various sports. Next term we hope to play some games against other schools as part of our final preparations. 

We are excited to have started the ball rolling on all of this as this is a big event  for us in the year 7/8 area. Bring on September. We'll be ready!
