This week for buddy time some of us got to cook and the rest of us got to show the big buddies how good we are getting at our reading!

We all know that children get better at reading by reading lots of different books and reading those books multiple times.  Every Friday when it is buddy time, reading to your big buddy is a must do task for every group (except those that are cooking).  The little buddies are so proud when they get to read a book they know well to their big buddies and the big buddies are so encouraging towards the little ones and know how to help them if they are stuck on a word.

Then as a special treat, the big buddies read a picture book to the little buddies so they can hear stories and build up their vocabulary bank.  The big buddies try really hard to put on the voices of the characters and the little buddies are so engrossed in the amazing storytelling that is happening!
