How do teacher's know what students are doing online?

Steve Ladbrook —

Oaklands School has a number of systems and programmes in place to help manage your child's use of ICT at School.

A challenge for all schools is how do the teachers have oversight to all of student's online habits at school. ICT tools are used throughout all programmes as they can add value to the learning. So what systems do we have in place?

Hapara Teacher Dashboard

This tool, which is part of the activity fee, enables teachers to:

  • See every email, google doc and blog post that a student creates, is sent and that he or she deletes.
  • View the browsing history of their students.
  • View what is on the student's screen at any time.
  • Share and organise documents collaboratively with their students

Linewize

Linewize is a service that overlaps with some of things that Hapara Dashboard provides. Its major difference is that it provides reports when students are on apps that connect with the web (Hapara is Google based only). It also allows us to fine tune our web filtering that is not already provided with our internet provider (N4L) and Google Apps.
