Welcome back from the Eco-Warriors

Caroline Martin —

We are excited to be back and are looking forward to travelling to America in June to represent Oaklands at the International Future Problem Solving competition.

Our goal for this year is to have all students bring plastic free lunches. We are helping to achieve this goal by:

  • Giving all new students a plastic free lunch box and brochure with tips for plastic free snacks.
  • Rewarding students who bring plastic free lunches with CARE ticks and assembly draws.
  • Helping hubs to set up recycling systems for food waste and paper.

When packing your child's lunchbox this year consider where the waste from their lunch box will go. We want to inherit a planet that is green and clean and we need your help to make sure that this world does not become one big rubbish dump.

If you would like to learn more about the plastic problem there is a series currently running on TV 3 called War on Plastic.
