Week 7 in the 7/8 Hub
Maths - Students are continuing to work in their Number Knowledge groups. All maths activities are accessible online and students have the option to continue their learning at home. All students have an xtramath log in and are expected to complete one green session per day.
The Year 8 students are trialling and enjoying a new Maths initiative called Money Time. This financial literacy online programme, aimed specifically at Year 7 & 8 students is proving very popular. We hope to get the year 7's on the programme soon.
Top Team -
On Tuesday afternoon we were lucky enough to participate in the Top Team event. Top Team is a series of interactive team building challenges designed to promote problem-solving, communication and team work while being active and having fun.
We were very impressed with how the Year 7/8 students worked with the younger students and how they supported them throughout all of the activities.
Life Education - This week students have had their first session in the Life Education caravan. We have 2 further sessions in the upcoming weeks.
Questions being focused on in these sessions are;
- Why is physical activity good for our bodies?
- Why do we need to eat different kinds of foods throughout the day?
- What can we do when we have problems?
Year 8 Fundraising - The Year 8 students hosted their first bake sale of the year. It was a great success! Thank you to all the families who purchased food in support of our Year 8 students.
