Eco-Warriors help support the Bread tag project.
This year the Eco-Warriors are getting on board with support for the Bread Tag Project. Our goal is to reduce the amount of plastic ending up in landfills and our waterways and we currently have several projects underway including giving all new enrolments a rubbish free lunchbox and promoting rubbish free lunches across all year levels. We believe the Bread Tag project is another great idea for reducing plastic waste.
If your kitchen drawers are bulging with those annoying little plastic tags send them along to school. You can either drop them in to the office or give them to any of the teachers at Oaklands School. Each week the Eco-Warriors will collect them and pass them on to volunteers who take the bread tags to South Africa. In South Africa the bread tags are sold to a plastics company which makes seedlings trays, and the funds are used to purchase wheelchairs for those in need.
This is a really easy way to reduce the rubbish going to landfills in New Zealand and help people in need at the same time.
