Multicultural Games

Emma Frampton - March 1, 2017

Last Friday, the Reception Hub joined in with the Year 1 hub to learn about and play some games from other cultures.

We talked about England and the national game that they play is football.  So we put out dribbling skills to the test by dribbling the ball to each other in a relay.

The next two stations were run by Jeanine (a parent) who taught us how to play a couple of Dutch games.  The first game was sack races which were lots of fun, even if we did fall over a bit!  The next game was really tricky!  We had to use a stick to roll a hula hoop along the grass to a buddy.  We all tried our best and persevered to play this game.

Finally we got to draw our own hopscotch grid on the concrete with chalk and learnt how to play hopscotch with a buddy.  This was an awesome game and now that we know how to play, we can play this game at playtimes with our friends.
