Week 5 in Kōmingo 5/6
Read on to find out what we have been up to this week.
Run Bike Run
It turned out to be a great day for the Run/Bike/Run - warm and sunny. After putting our bikes into transition, we did a warm up lap and received instructions on where we would run and bike.
We ran one lap of the lake, 2 laps around the pathway of the lake and playing field, followed by a short run on the football field to the finish line. Well done to all students who participated, and special congratulations to the top 3.
Students who placed in the top 6 are able to go to the Canterbury Duathlon, to be held at Ruapuna Park Raceway on Monday Sept. 4th

Maths
For maths we have been learning about time. In Mrs Fuller’s group we are currently looking at both analogue time and digital time and how we can record time and read time on an analogue clock.
Writing
A group of students have been working on developing their skills and confidence with writing explanations. In Mr Forman’s writing class, they have been researching and writing about the different states of matter - solid, liquid and gas. Today we are sharing Zara’s explanation. She has met all the criteria of including an introduction, paragraphs on solids, liquids and gases, as well as examples of the changes that occur between the different states.
