Tēnā koutou whānau,

My name is Miss H and I am one of the teachers in the year one team.  I can be found in room 17 with 22 clever, hardworking students.  In the year one team we have an exciting breakout programme that exposes our students to a huge curriculum.  My passion to teach during this time is in the areas of te reo māori and science! Before coming to Oaklands School I taught in a small country school called Murchison Area School.  We had 130 students total and taught yr 1-13 so to come to a school that had our full school total in yr 1's alone was a huge change! I am originally from Invercargill where I trained to become a teacher under a bilingual (māori) education called Te Pōkai Mātauranga. Pop in and say Hi!
