Welcome Back to 2016!

Margaret Trotter —

I would like to welcome back all our families and a special welcome to our new students who have started this week.

The students are at the centre of our learning and this week our students have been engaged in their Learning Plans.  The Learning Plans focus on building on the classroom programmes, expectations and routines.  The week began with the students' revising the C.A.R.E Values lessons on Transition (moving around the school) and Assembly Expectations.  This was modelled by the students when they  practised the assembly expectations on Monday morning. This allowed the teachers and students  to reflect on the lessons taught earlier.   The staff were very impressed on how well the students followed the assembly expectations.

During Wednesday all our students had the amazing opportunity to learn about how to keep themselves safe on the internet.  John Parsons talked about how to 'Dare you to Care' and looking after yourself.  With the younger students he talked about the safe circle and who would be in your safe circle.  (Please ask your child about the presentation today)

This evening Wednesday 3 February we have a presentation by John Parsons from 7-8.30pm for parents to learn how to keep your child safe at home.  All parents are welcome. We will have supervision available for your child.  Please join us after the community picnic tonight from 5-7pm.
