Positive Behaviour for Learning: It's Peace Week!
Week 3 is Peace Week at Oaklands School and across the country and we are pleased to be involved.
Peace is when people are able to resolve their conflicts without violence and can work together to improve the quality of their lives. Peace is when: everyone lives in safety, without fear or threat of violence, and no form of violence is tolerated.
This week classes will be taking part in a range of different activities that promote peaceful dialogue; these could include: Cooperative games, such as human knots, or art activities or even some drama.
On Wednesday the Year 7&8s will be writing their own conflict scenarios that might be typical in a primary school. They will then be role playing a peer mediation scenario in action. We will film these and enter the Great Peer Mediation Role Play quest that many of the country are entering. I can't wait to see what they produce!
