St John First Aid Training

Rachel Pickering —

Today the Year 1 Hub was lucky enough to have Heather from St John visit us this morning to talk about how we should respond in an emergency.

We talked about all the different emergency services we have: Fire, Police and Ambulance. We also talked about when we would need to call either of these services.

We learnt that in the back of the ambulance we will find lots of things including: a bed, seat, plasters, medicine, stethoscope, defibrillator and an oxygen tank.

We practiced calling 111 using pretend phones and talked about how important it was to know your address in case you need to call in an emergency.

Heather also showed us the lights and different sirens that the ambulances use.

Everyone will be bringing home a card to put on the fridge that you can write your address on, so that your child can learn it!

Once your child is able to tell us their own address we will award them with a St John certificate!
