Junior Chess Lessons

• Richard Christie coaches pupils from Year 4 upwards, but can consider coaching younger children.

• Lessons will be 45 minutes long, aiming for one lesson per week

• Lessons will be at 3:30pm, 4:30pm, 5:30pm or 6:30pm most week days

• Lessons can be arranged over weekend – but need to be arranged beforehand.

• Lessons will be on Zoom (or another platform by agreement) – Face to Face lessons may be considered

• Prices vary according to the number of students – minimum 1 maximum 4 – the more students, the cheaper the lesson, but bear in mind each student will receive less individual attention. $8 to $28 per lesson

- Cannot guarantee a student a class of 2, 3 or 4 students, but we will do our best to accommodate your needs.

1 Student $28 per lesson
2 Students $15 per lesson per student
3 Students $10 per lesson per student
4 Students $8 per lesson per student

• The rules and laws of chess

• Chess Notation

• Chess Etiquette

• Tactics Strategy

• Checkmates

• Openings

• Endings

• Pawn Structure

• Game analysis

• Tournament preparation

How and when these components are taught and to what degree will depend on the individual student and / or class. I will ensure that each individual and class is taught at the appropriate level.
