In 2015 the children have a had a massive year of learning and have covered a wide range of experiences. The focus for learning in Year 6 is still Literacy and Numeracy but the children have been involved in lots of other learning as well. Some of the highlights would include Waipara Camp, Swimming, Cycle Safety, Winter Sport and other Sport at Oaklands, Writers Workshop, Passion Projects, CARE, Music, Technology, Te Reo and Availll. Just to name a few. The children were asked to comment on a highlight from 2015. Most of them commented on learning in Term 4, just because this is most recent in memory. Here are their thoughts:

Nicholas Tan: I have really enjoyed the technology challenges especially the Mangonel building because we brought our own resources from our home.

Savannah Manson: I have enjoyed doing Athletics because I did well in my sprints and long distance.

Paige Jessop: I have enjoyed Year 6 Camp because we got to take lots of risks and we showed lots of teamwork.

Laura Ormandy: I have really enjoyed Swimming because we get a chance to go outside as a class.

Phoebe Lloyd: I have really enjoyed swimming because if it is hot day it is very nice and going with the class it makes it fun to do.

Emily Pentecost: I have enjoyed Technology at Lincoln because we got to cook and make our very own badges. I have also enjoyed Avialll because it was fun watching all the movies.

Emma Vincent: I have enjoyed Aviall because I liked watching the movies. I have also enjoyed Swimming and playing around in the water and doing activities too.

Charlotte Gillespie: I’ve have enjoyed going to Orana park and learning about the different types of animals. I’ve have enjoyed playing games with rooms 9 & 11 because we won….sometimes.

Charlotte Lynn: I have enjoyed going to Lincoln and doing Technology and making the badges. I have also enjoyed going to Orana Park and seeing and learning about all the different animals.

Natasha Coughlan: I have enjoyed going to Technology and making scones. It was also fun going to the pool on Fridays even if it's a cold day.

Grace Thomson: I have enjoyed going swimming on Fridays. I also like sharing Passion Projects.

Sam Carrodus: I’ve enjoyed doing Music and getting to perform in the Gala. I have also enjoyed Camp and being leader of my group.

Candice Andrews: I have enjoyed Swimming on Fridays because we do fun activities. I have enjoyed Availll because their are interesting words like...hesitating and justice.

Taylah Peek: I’ve enjoyed the Fitness games we’ve played with rooms 9 & 11 because we had a chance to play and co-operate with other students.

Caleb Archbold: I’ve enjoyed Availll, the movie and reading learning. It’s been fun learning new words.

Ashton Stocker: I have enjoyed Athletics and going to the Canterbury Championships for shot put and that surprised me. I also enjoyed having Mr Hillary as a teacher and doing everything this year.

Austin Black: I’ve enjoyed Availll. It Was fun watching the movie and doing the activities.

Portia Himsel: I’ve enjoyed Availll because the activities were fun and some were challenging.

Hailey Clark: I have enjoyed Availll because the activities were easy and fun to do.

Josh Fentiman: I’ve enjoyed Cricket because it is fun playing other schools.

Paarth Manral: I have enjoyed Availll because we got to watch a movie plus answer questions.

Jorge McClure: I’ve enjoyed doing Availll because it was fun doing the activities.

Scott Farr: I’ve enjoyed Availl because I find it interesting and fun.

Melahkye Green: I’ve enjoyed performing at the Gala and doing the Availll.

Sasha Kucenko - Howie: I have enjoyed being a part of room 10 and doing fitness games.
