A reflection of a fantastic year in Room 13!

We have had a fantastic year in Room 13 this year. It has been fantastic to see such enthusiasm and excitement from the students this year as they begin the rest of their Oaklands journey in the Kauri Team. Taking care of the Chickens and Food Forest, The Year 4 Sleepover and collaborating with Room 8 and 12 have been among the many highlights of the year.

Here are some highlights from us:

Swimming:

• because I can hold my breath longer and swim stronger
  
• because I learned a lot and I can do a starfish without drinking water
  
• because I can hold my breath and do a genie
  

Art:

• because I enjoyed doing Zentangle patterns
  
• because I like to paint and I put lots of effort into my chicken art
  
• because my Zentangle challenged me to think of new patterns
  
• because my Zentangle has lots of patterns and I had to keep trying to make different ones
  
• because it is something that I am really into and my Zentangle is my favourite art
  
• because I never gave up when the patterns were challenging, I found a way through it
  

Science Road Show:

• because I got to see a 3D printer working
  

Year 4 Sleepover:

• because I enjoyed sleeping at school and playing colours
  
• because it let me know what it feels like to stay away from home and prepared me for Year 5 Camp
  

Rugby World Cup Activities:

• because I learned a lot about a player from New Zealand
  

Miniball:

• because I tried my hardest and we won all of our games
  
• because it was fun,  I tried my best and we worked really hard towards our games
  
• because our team never gave up and tried our hardest
  
• because I had never played before and we won our grade
  
• because we all tried our hardest and I scored my first goal ever in the last game
  
• because we I hadn’t played in a basketball team before
  
• because it was a challenge for me and my team to win all of our games
  
• because I have never played before and it was lots of fun
  

Arion Farm Park:

• because I learned new things about animals and how to care for them
  

Feeding the Chickens:

• because last year I didn't know how to feed them and this year I got to do it a lot
  

Poetry:

• because I really enjoyed writing my metaphor poem and I got second in the Poetry reading competition
  

Drama:

• because I learned lots of Drama games

We have had a fun year together full of lots of learning, laughing and great experiences!
