Maths: Equal Sharing
Hub 1 continued their fraction focus through equal sharing.
Equal sharing introduces our young mathematicians to the idea of division.
For example "I have 16 jellybeans to decorate my cake (which has been split into quarters). How many jellybeans will be on each part of the cake?"
Key maths ideas are:
- Equal means even or the same (if one bit has four jellybeans they all need to).
- One at a time is a good way to make sure we do it right.
- Always check our work (count to make sure they are the same).
