O is for Oranges
In the year one hub we are learning the alphabet . Here is a glimpse of what we know starts with the letter o.
To help us with our Reading and Writing we are focusing on learning the letters of the alphabet and their sounds. Last week we were looking at the letters o and c. We had to put our thinking caps on to brainstorm all the objects that started with the letter o - octopus, otter, ostrich, olive, Ollie and then we finally remembered orange. Using our five senses, the students had this to say about their experience
Lewis "It feels bumpy"
Chelsea "It smells good"
Nadia "It smells sour"
Jake "It's juicy"
Levi "It stings my lips"
Toby "It's yummy"
All the children agreed that it was a tasty treat that would help us remember the letter o.
This week we focus on the letter a, I wonder what we will see..
We ate oranges to help us remember the letter. Here are a few of our orange smiles-
