Term 4, Week 6 in Review

Alex HORN —

A look back at the week that was.

Reading

We are desperately trying to get all library books back to the library, as such we had a hub competition this week, the first class to get all their books back would get 10 minutes extra play time next week. 2AH pulled out the win, with the final book being found on Friday! The competition is now entering Round 2 - 2JO vs 2PM for 5 minutes extra play time! So find those books and get them back as soon as possible!

Writing

We have begun publishing our Narrative writings. At the same time we have reached the next section of our narratives. First we had to use our descriptive skills to describe a new setting, then we had to create an event where we came across a temptation that would distract us from our adventure. We needed to feature what the temptation was, why it was tempting, what we did with the temptation and then we had to do the same for a second temptation. Next week we will be creating an event where our temptations turn evil!

Maths

We have been learning about compass directions with Mr Horn. We have been drawing treasure maps to direct people to find treasure using the terms North, South, East, and West. Next week we will also begin using North-East, North-West, South-East, and South-West.

PE

On Wednesday we had a practice of our Run, Jump, Throw day and on Friday we had the real thing! First we had a three station rotation of a running game, a throwing game, and a jumping game. Then we had the sprint finals. Well done to Enzo, Liam, and Dylan who ran in the 6 year old boys finals. Greer, Maia, Maia, Ruby, and Mavis ran in the 6 year old girls finals. Connor, Connor, Sam and Oakley ran in the 7 year old boys finals. Amelia, Sofi and Brocke ran in the 7 year old girls finals. Winners will be announced shortly.

Now that athletics has come to a close, we will be staring swimming next week and for the rest of the term.
