Room 8 Remembers ANZAC Day

Maria Brennan —

"In Flanders Fields the poppies blow between the crosses, row by row...."

This year Room 8 looked at why we should never forget what April 25 is all about. We looked at the history behind April 25 and what happened on that day in 1915. We also read different stories related to WW1 and the ANZAC’s. The most memorable stories were ANZAC Ted by Belinda Landsberry and Roly The ANZAC Donkey by Glyn Harper. We wrote book reviews and retold the story of April 25 1915. We also looked at the history behind ANZAC biscuits, experienced the delicious taste of these and wrote descriptive poems. The last thing we looked at was the poem ‘In Flanders Fields’ and what the significance of this was.

Check out some of the great work we have produced.
