FIJI APPEAL

Clean bedding, clothing and shoes for children and adults, plus tools, nappies, tents, food with a long shelf life, bottled water are required after Cyclone Winston devastated homes in Fiji.

The Halswell Drama Group are holding auditions for our upcoming production of 'Nunsense' - Men & Women required – age 13+

Tap-dancing experience would be an advantage, but definitely not necessary!! Backstage & other crew also required if interested.

Auditions will be held on:

Sun 10th April 2016– 2-5pm, Tues 12th & Thurs 14th April 2016 – 7.30-9.30pm

COOL KIDS PLAY HARD

Keza is a professional breakdancer who has travelled the world, (you can read more about him here). He is running his breakdancing classes in Halswell at the Halswell Community Hall which start next Friday March 11th, 5 - 5:45pm.

FOUND i-Pad

The Police have contacted us to say that an i-pad was found in the school grounds on Saturday 5th March 2016.  It was handed in to Police.  If you lost your i-pad please contact the school office and we will put you in touch with the correct people.

HIGHLAND DANCING CLASSES

Highland Dancing classes for Boys and Girls are held at the Caledonian Hall, 5 Michelle Road,

Wigram, commencing on the 2nd April. All new entrants should be at the hall by 9.30am for

a starting time of 9.45am. Boys and Girls from Age 5 years upwards plus any that are due

to turn 5 in the near future will be very welcome. This year we are making a special drive

to attract more boys to join our many young female dancers. The learning of Highland

Dancing contributes to children’s bodily strength, musical appreciation and co-ordination,

as well as providing the opportunity to socialise with their peers. Highland Dancing can

become a life-time interest. All information on our classes can be obtained by emailing

calyhighland@paradise.net.nz or c.cole@clear.net.nz Our Caledonian Society Classes are

kept at a minimal cost to accommodate family budgets. All enquiries will be welcomed.

HALSWELL COMMUNITY MARKET

Our market is a week early this month due to Easter so mark the date in your diaries and join us on Sunday 20th March for more fun games and 50 stalls of awesomeness with fresh vegies, flowers, plants, arts crafts,clothing, stuff for your home and garden - even apparel for your dog!!

Live music, fresh food and coffee - mmmmmm

Plenty of space to park your bike and enjoy a picnic on the manicured lawns. Bring the kids for an easter picnic - we will have an easter scavenger hunt and the easter bunny may even make an early appearance!!

McDonald’s Youth Duathlon

THE EVENT

The McDonald’s Youth Duathlon is organised by the Garden City Rotary Christchurch, to promote the development of healthy young people. Funds raised support youth projects throughout the community.

This run and cycle event is held at South Hagley Park from beside the Netball Centre, for individuals aged 7 to 15 years, with the emphasis more on participation than competition.

Entry Fee $15.

DISTANCES

7 to 10 year olds:

Run 1km – Cycle 4km – Run 500m

11 to 15 year olds:

Run 2km – Cycle 8km – Run 1km
