Read about what the teams thought about their experience below.
Netball Year 5/6
Coach Report (Mrs Fuller):
The Canterbury tournament was a great day out. The sun was shining and the girls were super excited. The girls played 7 games in the round robin, winning 4 out of the 7. The girls put in 100% effort and worked well as a team. Towards the end of the round robin the girls were starting to get tired, however they kept working hard and encouraging their teammates on the court. We came 3rd in our pool which meant that we made the playoffs for 5 and 6th position . It was a close game. Selwyn House came away with the win. The score was 7-5.
Players Report: Isabella Laing
In Canterbury's we played our first game and lost. Then we played our next games and won 4 out of 7. In our 4th game we got a photo with Jane Watson. She was so tall. We got 3rd in our pool and got six overall, Canterbury netball was awesome.
Netball Year 7/8
Player/Coach Report: Denver Stirling
I think that the Netball team tried their hardest and did really well. We had lots of downs but then again tons of ups . Everyone had a smile on their face when we won the second game and that smile never left .This was a new experience for me and I am always learning new skills from my fellow players . So good job to the netball team, and good luck for Koru Games .
Player/Coach Report: Alexia Mackenzie
I think that the netball team did really well for making it into the Canterbury Tournament and putting all their hard work into it. We played well as a team and are hoping that we can make some improvements and come a place in Koru Games.
Football Yr 7/8
Coach report (Mr Muller):
The Canterbury Tournament provided another opportunity for the team to gel together. We had a tough draw playing 7 games before our first bye. We played a total of 8 games winning 1 and losing 7. Many of our games could have gone either way and 5 of our losses by 1 goal only. It was great to see the boys encouraging each other in the face of some tough opposition. They played with great heart and can be justifiably proud of their efforts. Top effort Boys!
Players report:
Ben Hanson - I enjoyed being given the chance to represent the school Yr 7/8 football team because I have not had many opportunities to do this sort of stuff. Anyway the day was really fun because we got to basically play football with our friends for the whole day and have a bit of competition between different schools.

I enjoyed playing in the tournament and it was the first time that we could play as a team. At times I struggled when some of the goals that we scored didn’t count but I enjoyed the rest. Overall I think that the team did really well and a lot of people got at least one goal. It was disappointing when we would lose by only 1 or 2 goals.
