During the evening of Tuesday the 6th of September, Oaklands School had four teams compete in the Interschool Epro8 Competition. The students all turned up to Russley School's Hall with smiles and excitement seeing the Epro8 Interschool kits set out with their team names on their workstations.

The challenges laid out for the groups ranged from making a bed for Uncle Albert, A magic show with a disappearing rabbit or a vending machine. Most students attempted to work their way through the bed for Uncle Albert. All the Oaklands' teams decided to work on this challenge. The first step in this challenge was to build a solid bed. Next, the groups had to figure out using the electronics to make a light and alarm go off when the Sun came up. After this the teams were required to build an automatic coffee table that was 2 metre away from the bed and would drive in and stop next to Uncle Albert. The final step was to have the bed tip Uncle Albert out using a hydraulic ram.

The teams bounced up and down the leaderboard throughout the 2 and a half hours of the competition but by the end when the clock ran down to zero the Oakland's Cement team found themselves on top of the leaderboard! Thus, taking out first place.
