Pink Shirt Day

Steve Ladbrook —

On Friday, Oaklands School was covered in pink to acknowledge Anti Bullying Week

Last week we had a anti bullying week. Everyday we would have to pick a piece of paper out of a box and on that piece of paper it would have a random act of kindness and throughout the day we would have to do whatever the piece of paper said, it could be like ‘Go and help a teacher with holding their books’. If we finished whatever our random act of kindness was we got to put it in a box and then at the end of the week the teacher counted them up and the class with the highest percentage got a morning tea hosted by the principals. The winning class was room 22.On Friday we had pink shirt day, What we had to do was wear anything pink, it could’ve been a T-Shirt or some shoe laces. The purpose of the day was to stand up to bullying. This day was very successful and lots of kids dressed up in pink.
