I'd like to start off by saying a massive thank you to whānau and students for allowing us to have an amazing year in Kōmingo. What a great experience it has been watching students foster new friendships between different year groups. There have been lots of engaging learning and many laughs along the way. I wish all whānau and tamariki a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Bring on 2022!

Emma Rupp - The best thing about our class this year has been having lots of students around. This is new to me because my last school had 50 in a class with 3 year groups. An amazing experience has been wearable arts because it was really fun.

Hannah Banuag - My favourite learning of the year has been wearable arts because it was fun. My group picked the Philippines. My highlight of the year was camp because I really enjoyed the archery, it was my first time.

Milana Arora - My highlight of the year was camp because I enjoyed the performance. My favourite activity was the go-carts I bumped my head. The best thing about Waikirikiri this year was that I made lots of friends.

Selena Gong - My highlight of the year was the water slide at camp because it was fun. Something I improved on this year was making friends, this year I made lots of friends. Next year I look forward to swimming.

Connor Stewart - My highlight of the year was athletics because I won 3 things. I won the long jump, discus, and sprints.
An amazing experience that I remember was camp because I got to go go-karting and gaga dodgeball.

Lincoln Hides - My highlight of the year was the whole year because I met lots of new people, although it's bittersweet because I'm moving schools next year. An amazing experience that I remember was the giant swing because I went up to level 1 because I was scared of heights. This year I improved on writing because now I can write for longer and have better ideas.

Jeana Wu - An amazing experience that I remember was camping because I got to meet lots of people from Rāwhiti. The best thing about our class this year was having lots of kind people and a really really kind and funny teacher.

harmanpreet kaur - My favourite learning I did this year was camp because I liked having a room with my friends. My highlight of the year was Halswell pool trip because I came first at the fast swimming.

Liam Hesp - My highlight of the year was wearable art because i like making stuff.
This year I really improved on math because I learned what decimals are and how to add them and also I learned some more square roots.
An amazing experience that I remember was at camp because i got away from my sister and I also like what we did there.
My favourite learning I did this year was prodigy because you can customize your character and you can also get pets and I have some of the rarest pets in the game.

Macklin Bowman - My highlight of the year was camp because l liked playing gaga dodge ball. My favourite learning I did this year was prodigy because I like pets.

Alexander Stubbs - This year I really improved on maths because of prodigy.
The favourite learning I did this year was camp because it was the first camp that I've ever been to, It was fun and I got to play gaga dodge and won.

Howard Lu - My highlight of the year was camp because I won in the gaga dodge ball twice.
The favourite learning I did this year was myitime because we get to learn more about other things.
This year I really improved on maths because I learned how to times fractions.
Something that was really challenging that I achieved this year was sprint because I almost got 3rd place.

Nevaeh Brougham -
My highlight of the year was camp because we did a lot of independent activities. My favourite learning I did this year was Maths because I'm never good with maths and I learned a lot. This year I really improved on Maths again because I have learned a lot more. Something that was really challenging that I achieved this year was my silver because never in 6 years I haven't got it. An amazing experience that I remember was Athletics because I did really well. The best thing about our class this year was Miss booth :D because she was a good teacher and got me into shape real quick :0

Arden Edwards-Thomas - My highlight this year was camp because i got to go on a go-kart and shoot an air rife. I liked math because I got to learn about area. The trickiest thing this year has been wearable arts because you have to make stuff that someone could wear.

Shaheena Ahmadi -
My favorite learning I did this year was food for thought because it was really fun to go to a shop and find out what foods are healthy and unhealthy. This year I really improved on Basic Division because I didn't really understand it before we started learning about it but now that we have learned about it I know more about how to do it. An amazing experience that I remember was camp because it was my first time doing air rifle, archery, go-karts, and sleeping in a bunk bed.

Didi Xue -
My highlight of the year was camp because it was scary at the giant swing but it was fun as we come down. My favourite learning I did this year was food for thought because it
helped me a lot with healthy food choices. This year I really improved on is math because my math skills went a lot higher this year. Something that was really challenging that I achieved this year was the high jump because last year I jump 90 cm. This year I nearly jumped 1 meter. An amazing experience that I remember was the inter-school chess tournament. I went with Marcus Ryan and Amelia. I won all my games. The best thing about our class this year was the different culture in waikirikri because there is a variety of different cultures. Next year I am really excited about working with new people and competing with my math skills.

Charlotte Bond - The best thing about our class this year was we had different people, not the same as last year. My highlight of the year was camp because it was just with the year 6 students. I've also enjoyed the disco. I believe I have achieved well in wearable arts because I made a costume and the group worked well.

Maya Veendrick - My favourite learning this year was my Garfield writing because I think I did a really good job draw and colouring in my comic strip. The reason I think this is because I like making comics.

An amazing experience that I remember was camp because I loved sleeping in a room with my friends and most of the things we're really cool and fun like go-karting and the talent show.

Something that was really challenging that I achieved this year was getting into zones and then canterbury's for cross country because I had to push myself to run for 2km till the finish, although I'm glad that I did.

The best thing about my class this year was having Miss Booth as my teacher, this is because she is really funny and makes learning fun, especially when we did Navigating the journey.

Ivy Du - My highlight of the year was Wearable arts because I LOVED designing the outfit and had fun with my group.
My favourite learning I did this year was in writing because we did an information report and I did 'The history of the Philippines' With a partner, and did a lot of research so I learnt a lot of new things about the Philippines.
Something that was really challenging that I achieved this year was In camp the Go-Karts. It was REALLY SCARY especially that it was REALLY FAST! But I did it and wasn't so scared as I thought I would be.
An amazing experience that I remember was Athletics this year because I really enjoyed all the games we played.
The best thing about our class this year was My i time because I loved the 'Free time' we got to do the things we loved to do.

Grace Oh - My highlight of the year was Year 6 Camp! because all of the activities were exciting and challenging. My favorite activity was the Giant Swing because it was a really exciting thing to do. I think it was a great experience.
My favorite learning I did this year was Wearable Arts because we got an opportunity to create and design clothing that represented something. At first, we were just designing with magazines, but when we were actually starting to design clothing we were going to show, we put a lot more effort and started bringing equipment to school, eg: fabric. Our piece of clothing was representing South Korea. I love how it came out!
This year I really improved on Math, because whenever we were handed worksheets, I would always feel less confident, and it was really time-consuming. However, this year, I think that I feel way more confident about my work, and it's easier to solve the equations compared to the start of the year. So, I feel very proud of my Math recently.
Something that was really challenging that I achieved this year was Winter Sports. We would bus to Hagley Park to compete with other schools, it was a really fun experience. I was selected for Hockey A, and wish to participate again.
The best thing about our class this year was the fun vibe and teachers that always made me want to come to school each and every day.
After all, I really enjoyed 2021, and am sad to finish primary, but I think it was a WONDERFUL year to finish my primary experience!

Elaine Zhang - My highlight of the year was the Year 6 Camp that's because I REALLY enjoyed Giant Swing I also went on levels 3 and 4 and I enjoyed all the other activities there ( the Water Slide was REALLY fun). My favourite learning I did this year was Wearable Arts because we got an opportunity of designing clothing and practicing on Model aka People plus bringing equipment to make the clothing for our final piece was the country South Korea ( I was the Model). Something that was really challenging that I achieved this year was Winter Sports doing practices on one sport every day and the teacher chooses the teams to go to Hagley Park to compete. An amazing experience that I remember was having a visit to the Halswell pool also having a small picnic with my friends plus competing in houses when not swimming go to the park next to it. The best thing about our class this year was the fact that our class had a lot of drama in it and sitting down doing learning with Grace oh. This year I improved on is probably Maths doing decimals, percentages, Factions, areas, and perimeters.

Marcus Ko - My highlight of the year was Waipara Camp because the pool was fun even though the water was cold.
The best thing about our class this year was that we had year 5 and it was fun meeting all of them even though they were kind of annoying, like having a little sister/brother.
An amazing experience that I remember was coming Third in discus because the disc was big and is was hard to hold it and somehow I got Third.
Something that was really challenging that I achieved this year was wearable art because we used a lot of hot glue to make the sashimi rice for our costume.

Duncan Xu - My highlight of the year was camp because I got a room with almost all of my friends.
My favorite learning I did this year was wearable arts because it was really fun to make and try on costumes from different countries.
This year I really improved on writing, because I learned lots of punctuation and spelling, which are both something I wasn't very good at from the start of the year.
Something that was really challenging was athletics because even though athletics was very challenging, I was still very happy with my results.
An amazing experience that I remember was making new year 6 friends at the start of the year.
The best thing about our class this year was when we were having fun in a game that the teachers occasionally host.
It was an exciting time when we did oral language because nobody knew who was going to win the whakataetae.

Dilisha Prasad - The favourite learning I did this year was wearable arts because I did it with my friends and we made Hawaii and Niamh was the model. We made a haku, coconut bra, and my favourite part of the costume was the grass skirt. A cool experience that I remember was camp. I liked the food and the activities more than Woodend (last year's camp).
This year's classroom looked exactly like last year's classroom and the teachers were the same but one was in Rawhtiti. We had a new teacher Mr. Taylor but he left in term 3 and Miss Muir replaced him.
I have made many new friends this year because the year 5's also were in our classroom. Some of my new friends were Stacee, Grace, Jessie, Niamh, and Hannah.
This year I really improved on my space knowledge because of our art rotations. I was doing space with all my friends.

Connor Stewart - My highlight of the year was athletics because I came 1st in three things, long jump, discus, and sprits. An amazing experience that I remember was camp because we went go-karting and we had burgers for lunch.

Zech Murdoch - My Highlight of the year was camp because I really liked playing gaga dodgeball. The best thing about this year was swimming.

Luke ward - This year I really improved on fractions at the start of this year i didn't really know my fractions. Now I know a lot about fractions like mixed fractions, improper fractions, and wholes. I also learned how to fix improper fractions. An amazing experience that I remember was camp. I really enjoyed sleeping with my friends in my breakout room i had Jasper, Zach, Liam, and Noah. for breakfast we had toast or cereal. This year we did a lot of reading, math, and writing. This year we did a lot of prodigy. Prodigy is a math game and a lot of people have enjoyed it as well. I also enjoyed swimming in the pool with my friends and I enjoyed learning swimming skills.
