Principal's message
Term 1 is almost over with only 5 school days till the end of term on Wednesday 13 April. Thursday 14th April is Teacher Only Day
Wednesday 13th is also a mufti day and students are invited to wear a hoodie in support of Autism New Zealand and the great work they do. Our students come to school from a diverse range of cultural backgrounds. They experience a range of social and economic conditions and have a range of learning needs and styles. Multiple studies show that students work better in a diverse environment, enabling them to concentrate and push themselves further when there are people of other backgrounds working alongside them. This promotes creativity, as well as better education, as those with differing viewpoints are able to collaborate to create solutions.
On Monday teams will be celebrating their learning with each other through Zoom. I have been enjoying checking out the learning that students have been doing on Seesaw and walking around learning spaces to hear students sharing their mihi, seeing their amazing artwork and learning about students whakapapa.
We are starting to see the numbers of students and staff needing to isolate for Covid reducing over the last week and it has been great to see so many students coming back to school and re-connecting with their teachers and friends. If your child is at home and well, we strongly encourage you to support your child to engage with the Seesaw activities that have been set for them and to join in with daily zoom sessions. If your home is Covid free and you have no need to isolate please send your child back to school.
If you have any questions about Covid management at school or your child's learning please contact your child's teachers through the following email addresses:
