We hope you all had a lovely Easter break, we are excited to be back into the swing of things! Read on to hear about what we got up to this week.

A big welcome back to all of our tamariki and whanau, it has been great hearing about your adventures over the holidays! Also a warm welcome to our new students and families who have joined us in Term 2 - we enjoyed giving you all a big welcome with our Mihi Whakatau. 

This week we learnt all about ANZAC day. The children enjoyed reading ANZAC poems and creating lots of ANZAC art from paper poppies  using collage to creating watercolour sunsets. 

Our tamariki have loved seeing their classmates again after the holidays and have spent a lot of time practising the key competencies through play based learning. It's great to see our older children being great buddies to our new children. 

Just a few notices:

Sausage Sizzle 

We have got a sausage sizzle coming up on Thursday 4th May. Your child has been given a notice with the slip to put the money into. This needs to be returned to your child's kaiako/teacher on the morning of the sausage sizzle. Online orders and payment can be accepted through Kindo. 

PTA School Disco - Friday 12 May

The PTA is excited to hold a disco for current students of Oaklands. The junior disco is for years 0-4 and is from 5:30pm to 7pm. Your child has received a notice, let your child's teacher know if you need a notice.
