Multi-Cultural Week

Karen Mackie —

Cultural Week 20 – 24 February 2017

Our Cultural Week next week is to celebrate the cultural diversity we have at Oaklands School. Our main focus is the Multicultural Day on Tuesday 21 February. We would like the children to wear their national costume or something that typifies their country. This could be as simple as a hat or a scarf with colours from your country.

On Tuesday morning we have a parent group organising activities with the children, and in the afternoon, a special cultural assembly.

We are very fortunate to have a group of students from an international school coming to help with our celebrations.

On Wednesday and Thursday the children will be working in class creating patterns to use on totem poles or other art activities. On Friday the whole school is going to Halswell Quarry for the Year 4 – 8 cross country and games and activities from different countries.

Thankyou for your support in celebrating our cultural diversity.
