Hub 6 Needs Your Help!

Steve Ladbrook —

Hub 6 has come up with the idea of creating a Native Garden for Oaklands School.

Over the past few weeks in Integrated Learning Hub 6, have been looking at how to create and plan a native garden.

In the few sessions we had with Mrs Fuller we learnt about Native Plants that we could possibly plant. With Mr Forman, we learnt about some other countries native garden, and how some of the plants are important to their country. Lastly, with Mr Ladbrook, we learnt about cultural narratives and how we need to incorporate this in our design.

In Mrs Fuller and Mr Forman’s literacy class, we have been working on persuasive writing to convince Mrs Trotter for us to have a native garden.

As part of our learning, Steve Bush from Trees of Canterbury came to visit. A key message from Steve is that we need to be very clear what the purpose of the garden is.

This is where you come in. We have created a very short survey to help us decide what the purpose of our garden should be.  Here is the link:

We thank you in advance for filling in the survey and hopefully we will end up with a nice native garden.
