Term 2 Year 4 - 6 boys writing group.

Caroline Martin —

In the last week of Term 2 a small group of Year 4 - 6 boys had the opportunity to work with Greg O'Connell, a published poet and tutor from the Christchurch School of Writing.  They spent 2 days developing their skills as writers.

The poem below is one of many activities the boys completed.  It was written collaboratively and I am sure you will join with me in congratulating the boys on a job well done.  We will be inviting them to share this poem at the next whole school assembly.

Taniwha

Taniwha spoke, Taniwha said, "See me with my bulging head!" Taniwha shouted, Taniwha cried, "I will never be denied!"     Taniwha spoke, Taniwha said, "I don't need to go to bed!"     Taniwha shouted, Taniwha cried, "You had better run and hide!" Taniwha spoke, Taniwha said, "I have skin that's made of lead!" Taniwha shouted, Taniwha cried, "I will throw you side to side!"
