Sebastian at the Brick Show

Trish Patten —

Sebastian Arenas, a Year 6 student at Oaklands Te Kura Ōwaka, is also a keen Lego enthusiast. In the Term Break he had a display at the Christchurch Brick Show. This is what Sebastian had to report about his experience.

The Lego Brick Show:

Everyone that came to the show got a token to vote for their favourite Lego build, all together I got 59 votes from both days.

There were workshops for only exhibitors, one of the workshops was getting to know the behind the scenes in the show called New Zealand Lego Masters. Two lego masters called Llewe and Amy, were talking about behind the scenes of each episode and I got to know some cool things.

In the afternoon the Lego Master Llewe came over to my table and said he liked it because I put lots of effort into my build,

The exhibitors also got to vote for the best lego master build, most of their builds were at the front of the arena.

I got to do some stop motion, some art on a baseplate with 1x1 studs and got to make some cool things with different colours.

Some of the builds at the Brick Show were a castle from a war, a floating island with a castle and a dragon, a train station and all sorts of things.

There were also some challenges to get some lego things like mini figures and sets, every year at the brick show there is a set that is exclusive. This year was a lamb.

The first brick show was held in the year 2013.
