Last week the Year 7&8s took part in the Koru Games tournament. One of our sports was volleyball.

Oaklands entered their first ever volleyball teams in the Koru Games last week. We practised all year, learning the rules, moves and how to play. We went from not being able to serve, to 3 teams that did very well at the games! 

With some great team work, sportsmanship and effort, we had a fantastic 3 days. Our 2 girls teams placed 7th and 11th out of over 20 teams. Our boys team placed 3rd, bringing home a Bronze medal each. I was very proud of each and every player, especially the sportsmanship and fair play that they all showed over the 3 days.

I look forward to seeing volleyball continue to grow as a sport at Oaklands School over the years to come.
