Our Highlights for 2022

A note from Mrs Fuller...

What an outstanding year it has been! For me, my highlight has been getting to know the awesome students of Kōmingo. Living Springs Camp was a stand out, as well as our school gala performance, the arts, and our museum trip, just to name a few. Here are some highlights and gratitude from the fantastic Rima students as well as some photos. Thank you for a great year Rima. Wishing you all the best for 2023!

Megan 

My highlight was camp because it was my first school camp and camp with my friends. Also I had never done some of the activities.

I am grateful for Mr Hillary and Mr Forman running all the sports things.

James

My highlight is swimming because when it was hot you could go into the pool and cool off. I got to learn new things that I didn't know how to do like how to tread water which I didn't know before.

Shaheena

My highlight was term 4 Integrated Learning wearable arts because I enjoyed making the costume, the cloud and also I really enjoyed performing.

I am grateful to Mrs Fuller for being a great teacher for this year and for her helping me with my wearable arts costume. 

Sebastian 

My highlight was making our robots because we worked really well together. A highlight for me is cultural day because it was really fun learning what countries people are from and learning how to say things in different languages. For cultural day I made a google slide of how to speak Spanish because My dads side is columbine, we looked on google maps of places from Columbia it was really fun teaching Uru how to speak Spanish, we did a counting game in Spanish where if you said des-ten you were out.

I am grateful for having nice friends.

Oraynab

My highlight was the museum trip because it was really fun learning about it. We got to look at dinosaurs and real dinosaur bones. We took lots of photos and it was really fun, well not only that but we even got to feel the dinosaur bones.

Another highlight for me is the gala because we got to perform two times. We were singing the song Don't forget your roots and we danced to it as well... well not dancing but signing the sign language. After there were so many food stands and lots of different activities.

Griffin

My highlight was Radio play because it was a new experience and it was fun. I enjoyed being able to go to SW zones for football and shot put. My team came 3rd equal but we didn't make it through. Also we did pretty well in cricket but we didn't play many games.

Duncan

My highlights are going to camp and playing basketball for Oaklands.These were my highlights because they were both really fun. I liked going to camp because I had a good time with my friends, even in the bunkrooms. I liked playing basketball because I had trained at home so I liked to play 5 vs 5 games.

I am grateful for all my friends and teachers for giving me a really good time at Oaklands school.

My highlight was playtime because playtime is fun.

I am grateful for my friends for being funny.

Aidan 

My highlight was gala because I got to stand in the middle of the stage and after the performance the friend group was buying stuff all together. I enjoyed Camp and Athletics. Camp because the activities were all team related and my team was the BEST EVER. Athletics because I did discus and I came 4th but the good news is that Connor S came 1st 2nd or 3rd in many events that he chose something else so then I got a spot to get into the South West Zone discus team with Sam E and Duncan X.

I am grateful for Chloe Ge for letting me join the friend group and play with her.

Chloe Ge

One of my highlights this year was camp because we got to stay 2 nights and 3 days this time and I had a pretty good sleep this time.

I am grateful to Ivy for always making me laugh and telling me funny jokes. I am also grateful the teachers for planning fun school trips and events for us.

April

My highlight was Living Spring Camp because I had fun in camp and I had a good sleep. A highlight for me was the Music Festival because It was fun watching the Music band and Orchestra. It was also VERY VERY loud.

I am Grateful for my friends because they help me when I'm sad.

Roma

This year I enjoyed the School Camp, Sports, Run Bike Run, Swimming and lots more. I enjoyed School Camp because we did lots of fun and new activities. My favourite activities were Archery Tag and rifles and lots more but they were my favourites for the School Camp. I enjoyed the Gala because it was lots of fun.

Jake

My highlight was camp because it was fun.

I am grateful for my teachers.

Ivy

My highlight was camp because it was really fun and spending time with my friends.

I am grateful to Chloe for helping me do school projects eg. Posters, diorama

George 

My highlight was Turangawaewae because it has been interesting learning about my personal background and doing a little digging about my ancestors.

I'm grateful to Miss Booth for organising the Music Festival and training us it was a very enjoyable to be in the Concert Band!

Breana

My highlight was joining Oaklands school because at my old school I did not have that much friends and at Oaklands l have a lot of friends. My highlight this year is Swimming because it is what we are doing this year and it is so much fun.

Thomas

My highlight was Living Springs Camp because it was my first time going to camp.  A highlight for me was the Gala because there was tons of really good food and rides.

I am grateful for my friends always being nice to me.

My highlight was playing with my friends because they are nice and they make me feel better.

I am grateful for Mrs patten for setting up camp.

Chloe Ga

I am grateful for Mr Forman because he helps me when I need help. I am grateful for the school for planning the Gala.

Alex

My highlight was making my own robot because we got to build a robot.

I am grateful Mr Forman and Mrs Fuller for helping me with my work.

Pranavi

I enjoyed the disco because we got to do a lot of stuff mostly dancing and eating drinking and seniors got to go up to 10 or something. We sung and danced to Barbie Girl. A lot girls were just vibing to Barbie Girl when the boys were just like nah not my type but then they stared partying like yah!
