About our school
We provide quality education, in partnership with families, to meet the individual needs of children. We have students from a wide range of cultures attending our school. We believe that this helps our school to be a rich and vibrant learning place for everyone.

Oaklands School is a co-educational State U6 full primary school situated in the South-West of Christchurch. The school officially opened in 1964 and caters for children from New Entrants to Year 8.
Students are drawn mainly from the surrounding suburbs of Oaklands, Aidanfield, Westlake, Longhurst and Halswell. The school has a roll of around 600.
There are two especially designed adventure playgrounds, an astro turf cricket pitch, netball, and basketball courts.
The staff includes a Principal, two Deputy Principals, and 24 full time teachers. Part time teachers are responsible for Reading Recovery release, ESOL, Music, and Gifted & Talented programmes
