Week 10 in Waka Rua!

Hannah Krijnen —

Another term has ended but what an exciting end it has been!

Matariki

Friday the 14th of July is Matariki and to get us all excited for it we have been doing a lot of Matariki themed activities this week. We've been making kites and paper stars, learning rakau games and soap carving. Check us out in action in our photos below!

Technology Day

As a whole school reward, the students voted for a technology day that went forward on Thursday this week! The students got to do lots of fun challenges on apps like Minecraft Education and Scratch. We also got the opportunity to play around with some Bee-bots, Spheros and the Commbox. It was a lot of fun!

Matua Steve

Matua Steve has been coming into the Year 3 space every Tuesday this term and teaching us new waiata (songs). We have absolutely loved working with him and feel so lucky to have had him in our space teaching us this term. Thank you Matua Steve!!

Support Staff Appreciation Week

This week was Support Staff Appreciation Week in our school. We have 14 amazing school staff that work throughout the school and we wouldn't be able to do it without them. This week we worked on making cards for our support staff to show our appreciation for all that they do for us.

Production

All our hard work has paid off and the students performed fantastically! Thank you to everyone who came and watched! If you want to see and hear more of our tamariki's ideas about the production, among other things, check out our article in this week's newsletter!

Farewell

Unfortunately, I have to say goodbye to you all as this term ends, as I am off on a new adventure. I have loved teaching each of your children, getting to know you all and I wish you and your whānau the very best for the future. You're very lucky to be getting the lovely Mrs Barnes who will be taking on my role from Term 3. Thank you for all the kind words and support. I hope you have a wonderful and safe holiday!

All the best,

Hannah Krijnen
