The Year 4-8 Cross Country event takes place next Friday (May 12) at Westlake Park. Read on to find out about it.

This year we are running a Yr 4-8 event, welcoming the year 4 students back into the glamour of competitive racing.

It is an 'opt-in' event in that we will only be taking those students who have added their name to the entry spreadsheet. Currently the numbers are looking good so it should be a fun and competitive afternoon of racing.

For our Year 5,6,7, and 8 students, this event is also our selection event for the upcoming South West Zone Cross Country, to take on Wednesday, May 24 at Ngā Puna Wai. Success there will see them attend the Canterbury event at the end of the term.

Unfortunately, all Primary Sport Canterbury events are from Year 5 so the year 4 students are unable to be selected for higher honours. 

When: Friday 12 May

What time: We will leave school by 1:00pm, heading to Westlake Park. We will be leaving in time to get students back to school for 3:00pm.

Students attending:

- wear sport clothing for the whole day at school. They need to wear their HOUSE T-SHIRT.

- bring along any medication - especially inhalers

- bring their drink bottle and a snack - they will eat morning tea and lunch at school

- are expected to do their best in terms of making sure they are running the course and giving their all

Do you need any help?

Yes, we do. We are very much in need of parent helpers (older siblings, grandparents, relatives etc all welcome) to walk to and from school and Westlake Park. You would need to be at school, over in the foyer of the school hall by 12:40pm.
