Term 3, Week 1
Welcome to our first week back!
Here is our amazing Year 2 teaching team! We love having the opportunity to teach and learn alongside your wonderful tamariki!
As we dig deeper into our Transformation Inquiry we have started exploring the fascinating world of heating and cooling. Students made jelly, measured water levels and temperatures, and looked at the ways heat can move through a bottle in water! Here are some photos of our learning this week!
Students started our Measurement focus of STRAND maths. Students are learning about a range of different types of measurement we use in our everyday lives.
One group of students looked at temperature this week. They explored temperature gauges, clothing that you need in the warm and the cold and cold and hot items.
One group of students looked at time and how we tell the time using a clock.
Another group of students looked at the length of their body using string!
And the last group looked at Volume and Capacity! They looked at how much water can fit in different sized cups.
