While most of the Year 7's were away on camp the Year 8's and remaining Year 7's looked at the Commonwealth Games.

They started by looking at the whole Commonwealth and the Gold Coast Games. Then each was given their own country to investigate.  They had to design team uniforms for the NZ team. The last tasks related to an imaginary Games being held in Christchurch where they had to create a logo, mascot, and even the medals.

The Programme culminated in hosting the Year 1's for an Oaklands Commonwealth Games. We assembled in our school houses and sang the National Anthem before the students competed in sprints, long jump, hurdles and tennis ball throw.

The weather cooperated and our Junior students had a great time with our Seniors.
