Casey McPherson

Kia ora! I am Casey McPherson and I am really excited to be Oaklands School new junior school teacher! I live in Mairehau with my partner, Joe, and our three year old dog, Toby. Joe is a pilot and is studying to be a flight instructor. I grew up here in Christchurch and love exploring our new cafes on the weekends.

When I am not at school I will be outdoors with Toby or flying with Joe. I also enjoy reading, baking, and spending time with family and friends! I have been a leader for Girl Guiding New Zealand for two years and have my own Pippins unit. I graduated in 2013 from the University of Canterbury with a Bachelors Degree in Teaching and Learning (Primary). After this I spent some time in America as a summer camp counsellor before starting my career. My favourite subjects to teach are art and writing and I am really excited to be working with your children here at Oaklands School!
