Introducing Miss B
I was born in Blenheim and grew up on Air Force Bases around New Zealand before my family moved to Australia where I lived for 5 years. When we returned to New Zealand we settled in Hamilton where I attended Melville High School and then The University of Waikato and Waikato Teachers College. I graduated from Waikato Teachers College in 1990 receiving my Diploma of Primary Teaching and Waikato University in 1991 where I received my Bachelor of Education (Majoring in Education and Geography).
I began my teaching career in Wellington where I taught at Porirua East School and then at Ngaruawahia Primary, Holy Cross Primary, Fairfield Intermediate and Peachgrove Intermediate in Hamilton. I Have taught at both Full Primary as well as Intermediate Schools, and have taught students from Year 2 through to Year 8, including teaching a Year 8 GaTE Class (Gifted & Talented students) for 5 years.
I have taught at Oaklands School now for 9 years, teaching Year 4 through to Year 8. I love teaching Year 4 as they are at that age where they are excited about learning and curious about how and why things happen.
I enjoy teaching all curriculum areas, but especially enjoy teaching Writing, Maths, Social Sciences and Visual Arts.
