Year 7/8 Hub Update
Here's a quick update about what's happening in the Year 7/8 Hub.
Student Led Conferences
Next week on the Monday and Tuesday, we have our SLC. We are looking forward to seeing you and your students sharing their learning that they have completed.
Cross Country
We have had some amazing success in the Year 7/8 Hub. For the first time ever, every single student that went to the South West Zone Cross Country have qualified for the Canterbury Cross Country.
Novel
This week we have started our second Novel Study for the year. We are looking forward to seeing the quality learning that will produced. The novels that will be read are Inside the Game, This Land we Call Home, Hot Money, Fat Four-Eyed and Useless, Walking into the Fire, Lake of the Dead, Time Stealers, Island of the White Spear, Run, The Present and Lost.
Technology
Attached are some of the amazing creations that have been made in the current rotation of Technology.
Quiz
We are moving closer to the Quiz as our major fundraising event for the Wellington Camp. If you are able to get any items donated for the Quiz, we would appreciate your help. If you need any donation letters or businesses, please let any of the Year 7/8 Teachers know and we can organise these to come home.
Bake Sale - 5th August
This is our first Bake Sale this term. We strongly encourage you to make sure that the items are baked as this is unfair on the families that take the time to craft individual items for the bake sale.
Mrs Baker's Last Day
Sarah's last day is the Friday the 4th of September, end of Week 7. We welcome Mr Sy into Taiheke Hub who will be taking over Sarah's role.
