Alert Level 2 at school
The following information outlines the procedures followed by the school at Alert Level 2.
At Level 2 the school is open to everyone, and all children must attend.
- Please drop off your student/s at the gate. Our school gates will be unlocked at 8.30am and relocked at 9.15am They will be opened at 3pm and relocked at 3.15pm This is to enable us to manage who is on our school grounds.
- Contact tracing sheets will be at each gate and at the learning spaces. Please use the QR code or the sign in sheets.
- access to the school during the day is through Cunningham Place.
- our drinking fountains will be closed so please ensure your child has their own named drink bottle.
- our playground is closed after school. (Oscar have their own programme at Level 2).
Further information from the Ministry of Education
- The disease is contained but there is still risk of community transmission.
- It is safe to attend school as appropriate measures are in place, including for those vulnerable to severe illness.
- Learning is on school grounds with distance learning offered in some circumstances. Call the office to discuss.
- Everyone must scan the QR code poster or sign in at gates.
Schools are not classified as gatherings so a range of events an activities can go ahead on the school site. (this is different when the school is using offsite facilities)
Events can be cancelled at school's discretion to ensure safety.
Sick people must stay at home
- Seek medical advice if your child has COVID-like symptoms and get them tested if advised to do so. If they display relevant symptoms of COVID-19, test positive for COVID-19, or have been in close contact with someone who tests positive for COVID-19, they must self-isolate.
We practice good health measures at all levels
- Physical distancing (not touching and not breathing on each other at Alert Level 2)
- Hand hygiene
- Cough and sneeze etiquette
- Regularly cleaning and disinfecting high touch surfaces
Face coverings are not required at school or on school transport
This includes charter buses hired by the school to transport students and staff. Anyone who chooses to wear a face covering in any setting should be supported to do so.
