Silent Auction Rules at the Gala
What you need to know.
By bidding in the Oaklands Gala Silent Auction, each bidder agrees to the following Silent Auction rules.
Restrictions
All items are “as is” and all sales are final. There will be no exchanges or refunds and gift certificates cannot be replaced if lost or stolen.
Oaklands School PTA has attempted to describe and catalogue items correctly, but neither warrants nor represents and in no event, shall be responsible for the correctness of descriptions, genuineness, authorship, provenance or condition of the items.
Please be aware some items may be subject to conditions set by the donor including, but not limited to, pre-set dates or times, extra fees, expiration dates, and age requirements.
Oaklands School PTA reserves the right to add or withdraw items from the auction without notice.
How does it work?
Each Silent Auction item has a bid sheet in front of it. The item guide price listed is an estimated market value. The minimum starting bid is listed on the top line of the bid sheet. If you find something you like, simply write your name, phone number and bid amount on the bid sheet. Keep checking on your item to make sure you were not outbid before the Silent Auction closes.
What happens after the Silent Auction closes?
After the close of the Silent Auction, the Auction officials will remove the auction bid sheets. Successful bidder names will be highlighted on the bottom of the bid sheet. Auction officials will remove your items from the auction and escort you to the payment table. In the event of a dispute, the Silent Auction Chair shall have final authority to determine the winning bidders.
Picking up items won
Winning bidders are responsible for paying for ALL items won and items must be paid for in full and picked up on the day of the Auction. Any item left unclaimed, without prior arrangements, will be sold to the second or subsequent next highest bidder.
What are the payment options?
Payment can be made by cash, cheque or EFTPOS. Cheques should be made out to Oaklands School PTA. Payment for items purchased must be made in full on the day of the auction to the payment table.
