Who are the Student Leaders at Oaklands?

Lance Muller —

In the spirit of demonstrating our Community Value, we will be profiling two of the Student Leaders at Oaklands School each week.

This week we profile two students that provide essential services to the Oaklands School Community.  Caleb Mears is responsible for all sound and technology at assemblies and big school events and Keira Cust leads our team of student librarians.

Name: Caleb Mears.

Student leader Position: Assembly Technician

Some interesting facts/info about me:

Hi, I am Caleb and I am twelve years old. Outside of school I love to play football and one of my hobbies is graphic designing. I have two pets, both cats. Ones name is Charlie and the other one Munro. Inside of school I love maths and I can’t wait until Koru Games. I was born in Christchurch and still remain here. I always love a challenge and scouting really includes that. Scouts is one of the activities that I do after school. This is my eighth and final year at Oaklands School. I love to read Asterix and Tintin comic books.

Name: Keira Cust

Student leader Position:  Head Librarian.

Some interesting facts/info about me:

Hello my name is Keira and I am going to tell you about myself. Firstly, I have lived in a country called Saudi Arabia for three years and yes I did go to school there and made so many friends that I had to say goodbye to when I came back to New Zealand (I wasn’t born there). Secondly I have had lots of pets, my first pets that I can remember were two cats whose names were Coco and Cleo. I also had a bunny that I can’t remember it’s name, but it did sadly pass away before I went to Saudi.  In Saudi I had four pets; a dog, a cat, a tortoise and a bunny. Their names were Misty (dog), Tui (cat), Speedy (tortoise) and Mr Rosie (bunny). Now in New Zealand I have one cat and his name is Tui or Tui-boy.
