Boyle River - Year 8 Camp
The Year 8 students travelled to Boyle River by buses on the morning of Tuesday the 6th of December. The ride was long and the stop of was needed.
On arrival the Year 8's set themselves up and decamped their gear. The students then got to meet their instructors and set out their group agreements. Each group had a different piece of camping gear to write their agreements on. Some have a helmet, while other groups had a cone.
The students got involved in many different activities.
Mud Run
The students changed into old clothes for a stroll through the swamp. While doing this, some groups decided to have a bit of fun and throw mud at each other. After getting covered in mud they washed of in the stream or Boyle River.
Flying Kiwi
The flying kiwi was a rope based activity where students were harnessed up and pulled up into the air. Check out the photos below.
High Ropes
The high ropes had two different challenges for them to get stuck into. The first was the Giants Ladder and the other was the Leap of Faith. Photos below.
Low Ropes
The low ropes were a set of team building challenges. The students had to work together to achieve getting across different distances using ropes, planks and themselves.
Night Line
The students put helmets on and were blindfolded. Then set off down the rope line. The students had to talk to each other in their groups as the rope line changed directions, went under logs and around rocks.
Two Wires
Students had the opportunity to cross Boyle River with a zip line or two wires. This was an enjoyable and challenging activity.
