Stars of Matariki - Our Term 2 Production

Caroline Martin - June 30, 2023

What an exciting week it has been as we celebrated Matariki with our amazing production. The term started with students learning about how we produce light and sound.

Students conducted a wide range of scientific investigations and the knowledge they gained helped them in the design of costumes and props.  Our amazing dance, drama and music teachers Jade, Madeleine & Renee supported students to design dances, learn production songs and hone their dramatic skills in preparation for their final performances.

A huge thank you also needs to go out to Rebecca Pilbrough and Toni Booth who were the creative team behind the production. Mr Reed did an amazing job working with the lighting and sound crew to bring our production to life and Mr Brown also deserves thanks for his work building the whare.

We also want to thank our amazing teachers who worked tirelessly to ensure our performers were ready, willing and able. It was also incredibly humbling to see so many of our whanau supporting our shows over the three nights.

Our 2023 production has certainly brought our cultural narrative to life.
