Week 5 in the 7/8 Hub
Integrated Learning -
Get involved and make a difference! It’s time to take action…. We need to do our bit to help the world. Students are planning on how they can make a difference by choosing one of these options; up-cycle something, take action in our school, or take action in our wider community.
Many groups have chosen to focus on up-cycling with a main focus on reusing plastic bottles by creating something new. Take a look at this website for all of the ways that plastics bottles can be reused.
Watch this space for our finished products!
Te Hapua (7/8SB) - Electronics/Robotoics and Coding
Soulin - Today we got to use the Ozo Bots. They all were named after Star Wars characters, mine was Rae. We had to use black lines and coloured patterns to make the Bot move around. We got to make them do tricks e.g. the moon walk, tornado, fast, turbo and nitro boost. I had lots of fun and can't wait for next week to use the bigger Bots.
Caitlyn - Today we got to learn some coding on Scratch. We learned how to use code to make music. I also learned how to use the Makey Makey to create an instrument using play dough, paper, foil and tape. I enjoyed learning how to code and am looking forward to making more instruments next week.
