Westlake Park - Community Day
The Eco-Warriors continued their good work at Westlake Park on Wednesday!
Students from Oaklands School, Halswell School and Wales Street Kindy went to Westlake Park today to participate in Westlake Park clean-up. This event was put on in conjunction with the Christchurch City Council.
The students enjoyed participating in the following activities:
* A scavenger hunt to learn more about how to keep Westlake Park clean and beautiful - Spencer in Hub 1 managed to win one of the prizes!
* Design a poster mural for the park to remind people how to care for Westlake Park.
* The Eco-Warriors displayed their Rubbish Monster from the rubbish we collected at school.
* A rubbish pick up challenge.
* Some games/sports and activities to show how we can use Westlake Park for recreation.
* Bird watching and learning about all the birds that live in Westlake Park.
* Planting seeds to promote new growth in Westlake Park.
We were also lucky enough to get to play on the playground and have a yummy sausage for lunch!
