Sport Focus: Lilly and Evelyn Bushnell - a very sporty family
Read on the find out about the very sporty Lilly (Yr 4) and Evelyn (Yr 1) Bushnell and how they spend their time outside of school hours.
When the bell goes at the end of the day, it signals that it is time to switch into 'sport mode' for the Bushnell girls.
The Bushnell family are a very sporty family and do all sort of sports outside of school hours. Lilly competes in Gold regional gymnastics at Olympia and trains 5 hours a week. She also does 2 hours a week trampoline at flips and tumbles and has just received her red, blue, green, yellow, orange and white badges:). She is now training at Level 7 routine (pink badge).
Both of the girls ski and have done 3 seasons. Lilly is a level 6 skier and has completed every single run on Mt Hutt including double diamonds. Mt Hutt will be assessing her this season for academy level (which they offer for kids 10+ years) but make exceptions for under 10 if good enough. Lilly will be 8 very soon!
Lilly absolutely loved the Weetbix TRYathlon challenge this year - smiled the whole way :)
Evelyn (Yr 1) who is 5 does Ballet, Rhythmic Gymnastics, swimming and skiing. She is loving her sports and doing well.
Skiing is a massive part of the Bushnell family's life. 50 days last season with the aim to go up twice a week from June to October.
Certainly a great way to spend your weekends as a family.
Good on you, Lilly and Evelyne. Oaklands kids out there enjoying sport.
